James Valente joined Kennedy in May 2008 as the new Senior Vice President of Research. Previously, Mr. Valente was with ING Clarion where he was Senior Vice President and Head of Research & Strategy. He has 12 years of real estate research experience covering all property sectors and markets in the U.S. as well as Canada, Mexico, and several Western European markets. Mr. Valente is published in both academic and trade journals, and is a frequent speaker at real estate trade conferences. He has also held senior research positions at SSR Realty and Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors.

Mr. Valente is a Fellow at the Homer Hoyt Institute and Senior Associate Director of the American Real Estate Society. Professional affiliations include the Pension Real Estate Association, the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Urban Land Institute.

Mr. Valente holds a BA in economics and a MBA with concentrations in real estate and finance from the University of Connecticut.
