Bob Villeneuve re-joined Kennedy in March 2008 as a Vice President on the Asset Management
team in the Washington, D.C. office, a position he previously held from 2002 to 2003.
He brings over 20 years of commercial real estate experience in all property types.
Mr. Villeneuve was most recently with Sunrise Senior Living as a Vice President of
Capital Management as a portfolio manager working with several key capital partners—AEW/CalPERS,
Investcorp, Carlyle and the Sunrise REIT—for investment portfolios of over 120 senior-living
communities in the U.S. and Canada valued at over $2.3 billion. He was the primary liaison
interface between the joint venture partners and all Sunrise business disciplines for a broad
range of activities including portfolio performance reviews, contractual compliance, operations
and market analyses, process innovation and improvement, and project management. Sunrise is the
nation's largest operator of senior housing with over 450 communities, 52,000 residents
and 38,000 employees.
Prior to joining Kennedy in 2002, Mr. Villeneuve was a Vice President/Managing Director
at Riggs & Co. – MEPT, where he was the Senior Asset Manager for the western U.S.
Here, Mr. Villeneuve oversaw a team of asset management professionals managing a
$1.7 billion portfolio of 70 office, flex/industrial, retail, and multi-family assets.
He also analyzed, negotiated and documented over 100 lease transactions totaling
1.5 million square feet and generating over $200 million in revenues. As a member of the
Trust Investment Committee, he also helped transition the MEPT advisory management from
the trustee to Kennedy as a charter member of the new Washington, D.C. office.
Mr. Villeneuve previously was a Vice President at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers
in Atlanta, Georgia as an Asset Manager for a Mid-Atlantic and Southeast portfolio of
investment-grade assets, and was an Associate Director with MassMutual Life in
Washington, D.C. originating commercial mortgage loans for the Real Estate Investment
Division. He began his career at State Street Bank in Boston in the custodial and
shareholder mutual fund accounting group.
Mr. Villeneuve earned his BS in Finance from the University of Maine, and has been a
member of NAIOP, REIAC, IREM, and The Appraisal Institute.
